'Belle de Jour' reveals her true identity
17 November 2009
The call-girl writer Belle-de-jour has finally revealed her true identity to the Sunday Times after fears that her former boyfriend was going to leak her secret. Dr. Brooke Magnanti, a researcher at The Bristol Initiative for Research of Child Health, has outed herself as the person behind the bestselling books that tell of her experiences as a high-end prostitute.
Magnanti kept a weblog of her frolics in 2003-2004, which were turned into a best-selling book, "The Intimate Adventures of a London Call Girl" and adapted into a popular television series "Secret Diary of a Call Girl", which starred Billie Piper.
