Sergeant can't handle writing another memoir

Former ITN political journalist, John Sergeant, has told the Radio Times that he has paid back tens of thousands of pounds because he didn't want to write another autobiography.

The 65-year old said, "You can't go on writing the same book - not only is it boring, it's a terrific strain too".

Sergeant, who has already written a memoir and a book about Margaret Thatcher, has said that he "felt incredibly free" now that he had cancelled the contract and paid back the money.

Sergeant isn't disappearing though, he will soon be staring in a new ITV1 series called John Sergeant on the Tourist Trail.
