Ivor The Engine cartoon to be made into a book!

Cartoon Ivor the Engine will get a new lease of life when his adventures are relived in a new book. The Welsh engine, who came 18/100 in a Welsh heroes poll sponsored by the assembly government, appeared on TV over 50 years ago and his last adventure was made in 1977.


The book, which will be used to raise money for charity, has been written by the son of Oliver Postgate, the original writer and illustrated by Peter Firmin, the original illustrator.


Peter Firmin and the late Oliver Postgate were also behind other children's' favourites, such as The Clangers, Bagpuss and Noggin the Nog.
