Haddon joins top dogs in the book chart of the decade

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon is the only novel in the top ten bestselling books of the decade that has not be written by J K Rowling or Dan Brown.

The British writer whose book follows an autistic teenager, has sold more than 2 million copies and has taken 10th position overall.

Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code, managed to fight off competition from seven Harry Potter titles to be crowned the book of the Noughtties and his follow-on title Angels and Demons also made the grade, taking seventh place.

Out of the seven JK Rowling Titles in the top 10, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ranked highest, taking second place.
