Harry Potter films are the best Children's book adaptation

J.K Rowling's Harry Potter series has been voted the nation's favourite film adaptation of children's books.

With 2009 being a great year for book adaptations, LOVEFiLM decided to poll its subscribers, asking them to name their favourite children's book to screen film of all time. With a staggering 25% of the votes, Gold medal went to boy-wizard Harry Potter and friends and silver went to the 1939 version of The Wizard of Oz starring Judy Garland as Dorothy, which took 18% of the votes.

"It's great to see that the classics in our poll such as The Wizard of Oz still capture the imagination of adults and kids alongside newer adaptations such as Harry Potter which continue to keep us spellbound."
