Robert Burns Biography scoops literary prize

A Biography about Robert Burns has won the book of the year prize at the 2009 Scottish Saltire Society Literary Awards.


Robert Crawford, the author of 'The Bard: Robert Burns, a biography', walked away with the award and £10,000 cheque after fighting off strong competition from authors AL Kennedy and Janice Galloway.


The 27th award ceremony was held in Edinburgh on Monday and was presented by Culture Minister Michael Russell.
