The Gruffalo to star in Christmas TV animation

24 November 2009

The hugely popular children's bedtime story 'The Gruffalo' is being made into an animated BBC film this Christmas. Based on Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's 700-word story, the short book will be spun-out to half-hour and will be shown during the peak Christmas schedule.

The Gruffalo family film will be made by Magic Life, whose producer worked on Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run, and if that not enough to get you interested, then take a look at the line-up: Robbie Coltrane (voicing the Gruffalo), Helena Bonham Carter (the narrator), Rob Brydon (the snake), John Hurt (the owl), Tom Wilkinson (the fox) and James Corden (the mouse).
