A guide to the central role of the secondary-school tutor, designed for the experienced teacher wishing to reconsider and strengthen his or her approach to tutoring as well as for the first time tutor. The author concentrates on how to make whole-group tutoring the core of the work. The content and approach of a Tutorial Programme is explored in depth. Special reference is made to the LTR, but the book also stands independently of it. The core of the analysis is the pastoral responsibility for "personal development" and how the tutor can work towards this.
