The Resourceful Physics Teacher: 600 Ideas for Creative Teaching Book
This teaching resource collects 400 demonstration experiments and ideas for pupils in physics. They cover the range of physics taught to pupils from ages 11-18 at secondary or high school, and either make specific points about physics subjects or aim to set pupils thinking. The author, Keith Gibbs has drawn on 30 years experience of teaching physics to assemble these ideas. The book is divided into topics, and relevant background theory is summarized at the start of each one. Explanations and background theory for each demonstration are given, to help those teachers whose basic specialization is not physics. The experiments use standard laboratory items such as magnets, rubber tubes and bunsen burners, and all equipment needed is listed for each demonstration together with tips on set-up. Simple line diagrams show how the experiment is set up and help to visualize the intended effect. Safety precautions are highlighted where appropriate.Read More
