Each unit contains three readings which have been adapted from authentic sources such as newspapers, magazines, books, and websites. The opening page of each unit introduces new vocabulary and asks students thought-provoking questions related to the theme. On the page opposite the readings are exercises that develop student interest, provide practice in a variety of text-appropriate reading skills, and offer opportunities for discussion and/or writing. The final page of each unit features vocabulary expansion activities as well as suggestions for extension activities, which can be completed inside and outside the classroom.
