Rothman's Rugby League Year Book 1990-91 Book

Like good wine, the Rothmans Rugby League Yearbook just gets better with age. It is now in its 19th year and this is simply the best edition yet. Author Raymond Fletcher is a real authority on the game and although the book is--as you would expect--primarily statistical, the written features are both interesting and informative. The articles include a "viewpoint" by the articulate John Kear, coach of 1998 Silk Cut Challenge Cup shock winners Sheffield Eagles. Each season, there seems to be a fresh addition to the mountain of statistics and the 1999 Rothmans boasts that it includes for the first time anywhere a comprehensive register of every player to have taken part in Super League since the sport's revolution in 1996. There is also a complete review of the international season, including Great Britain's disappointing home series defeat by New Zealand. The Coaches Select XIII has been one of the highlights of the Rothmans Rugby League Yearbook for the past 10 years and this one includes a team of the decade to mark the milestone. In addition, there are the usual club and match details for all first-class competitions, plus photos of the big games and the big names. This has clearly become--if it was not already--an essential reference book for every rugby league follower.Read More
