Munschworks 2: The Second Munsch Collection (Munshworks) Book

Robert Munsch, Canada's best-selling author, is constantly in demand, and his books are always popular with young and old alike. This 'superstar' storyteller's books have sold more than 20 million copies. Last year brought "Munschworks: The First Munsch Collection," and "Booklist" praised it as "a treasure chest of crowd-pleasing picture books at a bargain price." But one volume cannot possibly contain ALL the Munsch favorites - it would be too heavy to lift at bedtime! Now volume two has another five classic Munsch tales: * "Pigs," illustrated by Michael Martchenko Follow Megan as she tries to get the pigs back into their pen, and discover that pigs are a lot smarter than you think. * "Purple, Green and Yellow," illustrated by Helene Desputeaux Brigid loves to draw and, when she gets her new super-indelible-never-come-off- till-you're-dead-and-maybe-even-later coloring markers, nothing is safe! * "Mortimer," illustrated by Michael Martchenko Discover why bedtime is such a noisy time with Mortimer around. * "Murmel, Murmel, Murmel," illustrated by Michael Martchenko Who needs a baby that says "murmel, murmel, murmel"? Certainly not Robin, but she is determined to find someone who does. * "Something Good," illustrated by Michael Martchenko Tyya's dad won't buy anything good at the store - no ice cream, no candy, no cookies. But when the saleslady puts a price sticker on Tyya's nose, Daddy is finally forced to buy something good. Robert Munsch was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He studied to be a Jesuit priest, but decided to work with children instead. He taught in a variety of nursery schools and daycare centers while he earned an M.A. in Early Childhood Education. In 1975, he and his wife Ann moved to Guelph, Ontario. They have three children: Julie, Andrew and Tyya (see them all in "Something Good!"). Michael Martchenko has illustrated over 30 books for children and has exhibited his work throughout North America. He has won numerous awards for design and illustration. He lives with his wife Patricia in Toronto. Helene Desputeaux has illustrated over 50 children's books for publishers. She lives outside Montreal.Read More
