Gynaecology Book

A reference work on gynaecology for the 1990s, this is a British-based account of all aspects of gynaecology. With its companion volume "Obstetrics" this text aims to provide total coverage of present day obstetrics and gynaecology. It contains contributions from Europe, Australia and the USA examining changes in understanding of the underlying pathophysiology in many areas of gynaecology in the past decade which have resulted in major changes in gynecological practice. There has been a swing towards medical treatments utilizing highly specific agents such as hormone analogues, anti-hormones, biosynthetic hormones and selective antimitotics leading to a reduction in certain types of gynaecological surgery with the utilization of a medical approach instead.
