As a foster parent, I not only have to protect the children I care for, but I also have to protect myself and family. The one thing you dread is having an allegation made against you, as the damage can be irreparable, and sometimes you have to prepare yourself for the worst and hope it doesn't happen. As an experienced foster carer for nearly thirteen years, I assumed that if I was ever to find myself in a situation like this, I would have all the help and support I need from the local authority or fostering agency.
