'Franny and Zooey' by J D Salinger wins find-book review competition

Robert J Thomas has produced a fabulous book review for 'Franny and Zooey', a novel by J D Salinger that was first published almost 50 years ago. Robert was reminded of this novel following the recent death of the author, more memorably known for his famous book 'Catcher in the Rye' which has cult classic status; although the reasons for its popularity allude me personally, but I have heard other women admit to a similar view.

Our winning reviewer, Robert, describes 'Franny and Zooey 'considers this novel as his favourite of Salinger's work; a claim that immediately inspires one to read the rest of the review to discover more about the novel. Having eloquently achieved this, Robert then goes on to describe the essential stories and character in a manner that is intriguing and tantalising for those of us who are interested in self-actualisation, and the creation and destruction of mental wellbeing, without spoiling the plot. In essence, I want to read a book I would have overlooked because of a previous disappointment with the author, as the review has made me confident I will gain pleasure from the writing, as well as a new depth of understanding.
