The Round of My Life Book

Thirty of the greatest golfers of all time--from Arnold Palmer and Seve Ballesteros to Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods--selected the single most memorable round of their lives and told Dale Concannon which it was and why. As interesting as the rounds themselves are the reasons they were chosen. For many, it was their lowest round, where the least number of shots got them the most coverage worldwide. But for many it was more than that--it could have been the round in which they shot to prominence, or the one in which they battled the odds and came back from behind. For others, it was the challenge of overcoming obstacles such as English weather, bad form, or fighting personal circumstances that even the closest of spectators may have been unaware of. For Bernhard Langer, it was a combination of these factors. For during the Benson and Hedges Spanish Open held at Campo Del Golf, Valencia, in 1984, he had £3,000 stolen from his hotel room the night before he went into the final round. An attack of the yips earlier in the year had dented his confidence, yet he won the competition by two shots with a round of 62--at 10 below par still one of the lowest rounds in European PGA History. For the face of women's golf, Laura Davies, it was her round of 66 in the final of the Du Maurier Classic at Edmanton Country Club in 1996. After battling severe weather, she came back from five shots behind the leader Meg Mallon to win the competition. For Nick Faldo, it was a similar scenario, and he chose the round in which he made up a six-shot deficit to beat Greg Norman in the final round of the 1996 US Masters. Whoever your favourite golfer is, you are likely to find the drama, thrills and tension of the highest point of their career recorded in this book. A great publication for the golf enthusiast. --Lucie NaylorRead More
