The Jesus Discovery: The New Archaeological Find That Reveals the Birth of Christianity Book

In late 2009 and in 2010, Simcha Jacobovici and James Tabor, with Prof. Rami Arav of the University of Nebraska, explored a sealed tomb in Talpiot, Jerusalem. By using a camera mounted on a sophisticated robotic arm they carefully measured and photographed the tomb. They discovered several bone boxes, typical of the burial custom of the time, sometime prior to 70 A.D. (C.E.). Two of the boxes contained markings - in one case an inscription, in the other a graphic symbol - that indicate a belief in Jesus' resurrection, because of the proximity of this tomb to a tomb previously identified by the authors as the family tomb of Jesus, this iconography suggests that the people buried in this tomb were followers of Jesus and that they believed in his resurrection. The Jesus Discovery explains how this exciting archaeological discovery revolutionizes our understanding of Jesus and early Christianity.Read More
