The Roman Army from Caesar to Trajan (Men-at-Arms) |
|
 | I have had this book since i was at school some 18 years ago. It is a fine addition to anyone's collection on ancient warriors. The illustration's, though not quite McBride, are very nice and the plates have some real atmosphere and humour to them (see the plate with the auxiliary with a spear stuck through his shield for example). The dialog is interesting and informative, with lots of historical details, as you would expect. I would recommend this book 100%. read more.
