 | Universe X follows on from Earth X and is set in a universe alternate to the real Marvel universe. Jim Kreuger and Alex Ross manage to tie together everything in the Marvel Universe so that it makes sense, even though it was built by diverse hands.
In the future mankind has been mutated into supermankind. Children are no longer born and being a superhero means little. Reed Richards has developed a method for undoing the mutation but many seek to stop him, including the Tong of Creel who are trying to reassemble the Absorbing Man who was shattered after he killed the Avengers. Meanwhile, we learn that Mephisto is responsible for creating endless alternate realities in order to maintain his own existence and Captain Marvel is working to defeat Death.
It's a heady brew and if you like the big picture then Universe X is great. But there are a few leaps in logic in the story as heroes figure things out without evidence to back it up, and that makes it a little confusing. There are ... read more.
