 | i love jill's books, i've said it before and i will say it again and again! this was another mansell winner. i havent read anything of hers for a little while because i had other books i wanted to read, but hers are always on my bookcase waiting. choosing which to read is the hardest part!
anyhow, i needed a mansell book to cheer me up and i finished this in just a couple of days. I will admit though, there were a few little things that prevented me giving it 5 stars. Like, Lottie, the main character, i didnt warm to her like i have other leading ladies. She always seemed a bit in love with herself. i mean, like when she picked her kids up from school and it rained and she split her skirt getting out of the car and it practically showed her underwear, and the red bra she wore showed through her soaked shirt. well you got the impression any mortification she supposedly felt really was secretly joy that it had happened!
