 | I'm a great fan of Harlan Coben and particularly of his Myron Bolitar stories but this one disappoints. He spends ages building up a muscly thug called Aaron and I was looking forward to a fight between him and Bolitar's 'psychotic Tonto' Win and it never happened.
There's also a contradiction in Win's character in this book. Coben says at one stage that he could sleep through virtually anything yet earlier to build up his character's fearsome reputation, he relates a story about some football jocks coming to his room in the dead of night to scalp his flowing blonde locks and him putting them all in the hospital sick bay. Hardly the response of a sound sleeper!
There are also far too many wisecracks and one-liners.
And yet it's still very readable so he must be doing something right. read more.
