Stephen Fry in America

Stephen Fry in America book cover
Stephen Fry planned his trip around America because his parents had considered moving there when he was young but opted for England instead. Knowing that he is often described as ‘quintessentially’ English, he pondered what his life would have been like if his parents had taken him to the States. Fry is such a well regarded writer and presenter and he puts his dry eccentric comic genius to good use in this first rate journal of his extensive tour of America where he absorbs himself completely in the culture and customs of each state. Examples of his wide experiences range from dolphin swimming, ice fishing, meeting some homeless people and staying with the Sioux. There is so much variety in his experiences that it represents a very un-ordinary lifetime. But Stephen Fry has not really been known for his ordinariness. If you manage to pick this up at the half price offering of some of the retailers it does represent exceptional value for money. read more.
