To Kill a Mockingbird (50th Anniversary edition)

Harper Lee (Paperback)
From:£7.99

A quick browse through paperbacks revealed some great books at amazing prices and top of my list is "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. The 50th Anniversary edition of this unforgettable novel is something to treasure. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and considered by many to be one of the greatest novels ever it is a story which tackles racial hate and discrimination with sensitivity, humour and warmth.
"Joyland" by Stephen King is the latest novel by this acclaimed author and this is a beautifully written and evocative tale. It's a simpler, easier to read format than the usual King novels but there is superb characterisation and a fabulous plot. A crime novel?  Yes. A horror story? Yes, but with an undercurrent of mystery and ghostliness and desperately sad.

Standing in Another Man's Grave

Ian Rankin (Paperback)
From:£

"Standing In Another Man's Grave" by Ian Rankin sees the welcome return of the reprobate semi retired,  detective Rebus. Pulled in to assist with a cold case, Rebus is forced to take to the road to the far North of Scotland, a long way from Edinburgh and the pub! The old character is as good as ever and although the plot is well structured it is undoubtedly Rebus who makes this a great read.
If you are a fan of Pink Floyd you may well believe you have read all there is to know about this legendary band. However this is arguably the definitive biography by Mark Blake. Thoroughly researched, anecdotal and detailed with new and fascinating facts this is essential reading.
