The Affair: (Jack Reacher 16) Book

Packed with action, violence and suspense the 16th novel in the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child does not disappoint. Jack Reacher is the ruthless, cool, intelligent investigator of the suspicious death of a young woman and the local sheriff just happens to be a very beautiful young female. The plot is tense and detailed. There is some violence, some sex and breath-taking twists and turns. The story is not told by Child but through the eyes of the protagonist. They are his observations and his conclusions and consequently the narrative is sparse, clean and sharp. There are no wasted words with Jack Reacher - he observes, he thinks and he acts. But this book is more about Reacher himself, with a retrospective view of his life and in particular why he left the army. The reader gets to understand him a little better. Many believe "The Affair" is Lee Child at his best, exciting and enthralling and at the very top of the genre. Read More
